MAC Makes it all Better

Two weekends ago I got my ass kicked at my softball game. Basically I tried to steal home on someone three times my size and she decided to literally tackle me. Not pleasant. Now I have been suffering with a knee that is extremely skinned and swollen. I actually go to the doctor today, finally.

So what can make me feel better about my ugly knee? Buying some makeup to doll myself up with!

I finally purchased some MAC Hello Kitty items. I wound up getting the Hello Kitty Lipglass in Sweet Strawberry and Glitter Eye Liner in Her Glitz. Both of these items are from the Hello Kitty Mild Collection. The gloss cost $14 and the liner $16.50.

Additionally, I got some Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation that does a great job of hiding any skin imperfections.

I had a great saleswoman who gave me samples of Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 and Oil Control Lotion. The Prep + Prime works to leave the skin looking smooth, preventing that "caked on" look that you sometimes get with face makeup.

I especially love that the eye liner isn't too dramatic. I love glitter, but not always for work. These pics aren't that great, but I am wearing the liner and the lipgloss in these photos. The gloss does look pretty dark so I try to put only a bit on for a more subdued look.

Hope you can still get an idea of the look that the makeup provides.

Have you purchased any of the items from the Hello Kitty Collection? If so, what did you get and how do you like it?

MAC is currently hosting a Hello Kitty Sweepstakes. Head o
ver to their site and enter to win the amazing grand prize--the Hello KittyKouture Collection!

I HATE Ticketmaster

Ticket prices are ridiculously high, but unfortunately you have to fork up the cash if you want to see your favorite bands. I can live with that, unhappily, but whatever. What I cannot stand is the ridiculous fees that Ticketmaster imposes.

This morning I went to buy Coldplay tickets, a band that I have liked for years but never seen live. With sky high costs for concert admittance, you'd think that the ticket mogul would cut us some slack with the other unnecessary fees. I was disgusted to see the following added to my tentative cost:

  • Building Facility Charge- $5.98 per ticket
  • Convenience Charge- $11.35 per ticket
  • Order processing charge of $5.60

Granted the building facility charge is added on by the venue, but what is convenient about Ticketmaster? There are no more outlets where you can walk in to buy tickets! Gone are the days of the Robinsons May and Wherehouse Music Ticketmaster locations. So this means I have no other option but to purchase online. That's not convenient, that's called a monopoly.

Then you're also going to charge me to process my purchase? Really?! Ugh!

On top of all that, buyers have to deal with the Ticketmaster Live Nation merge which means even higher prices. AND, many ticket agencies are buying up all of the tickets so when a normal person tries to make a purchase, they are directed to another site that is selling the same tickets for twice (at least) the price. There is even an option to bid on the best seats! This happened with me when I tried to buy Britney Spears tickets. Had they not added an additional date, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford the tickets.

Needless to say I didn't buy the Coldplay tickets because of my frustration with Ticketmaster's fees. I just don't think $70 a ticket is a reasonable price for the cheapest, nosebleed seats. It's not even the cost at this point because I have the money, it's the principal.

AG Hair Cosmetics Featured in Oscars Gift Bags

As I have blogged about various times, I am a huge fan of AG Hair Cosmetics. After trying the line once I fully converted and have never gone back to any other brands. I am currently loving the split ends spa repair serum. It's a fantastic leave-in conditioner that makes my hair feel silky smooth. Also an AG must-have for me right now: xtramoist shampoo and ultramoist conditioner. For the first time in my life, I have a really dry scalp. It's horrendous, but AG has helped so much!

In addition to me loving AG, so do many celebrities. And if they don't now, they will after receiving items in their Oscars Gift Bags. The swag will be given to the non-winning nominees. That's great exposure for the brand, which was founded in 1989.

“It’s extremely rewarding to know that AG products will be given to the likes of Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet and other distinguished actors and actresses,” says Lotte Davis, AG Hair Cosmetics’ CEO and Co-founder. “More and more celebrities and their hairstylists are asking for AG. In fact, our products were used on the set of many of the films nominated this year.”

Included in the bags are AG's colour savour shampoo and conditioner (which are products I personally stand by), foam weightless volumizer, re:coil curl activator, and dv8 texture spray. All seen in the picture above.

If you want hair like a celebrity, head over to your local salon to pick up some AG products. The line can be found in Canada (where the headquarters are located) and in over 10,000 stores throughout the U.S.

And tune in to view the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22.

Jessica Simpson Looks Great!

Since the whole Jessica Simpson looks fat in her mom jeans fiasco, she has gotten a lot of criticism across the board. But it's about time that it blows over already.

Jessica Simpson
Jessica was recently spotted with boyfriend Tony Romo and she looked just as amazing as ever! So this begs the question: either she's got a great pair of spanx, or the jeans were just unflattering.

I think that the infamous pants she wore were simply a bad fit for her figure. C'mon, we've all worn or at least tried on an item of clothing that made us look much heavier than we actually are. All women have different bodies, which means not every article of clothing fits perfectly.

Either way, as TMZ said, this whole story has gained her an immense amount of media attention.

Happy Valentine's Day

I am single (blah!) and am always single on Valentine's Day. So at this point it really doesn't even bother me anymore.

For those of you who are attached, I hope you have a wonderful day. And for those who are unattached like me, here is an adorable picture to brighten your day!

This photo comes from one of my favorite blogs that I have just recently been introduced to, Frocktart. Be sure to visit her blog and show her some love! That's what the day's all about, right?

MAC Hello Kitty Collection is Mild and Wild!

Finally, the day has arrived...well a few days ago...The MAC Hello Kitty collection is available! I have been waiting for this moment for like 6 months!

The products are pretty cute, but don't really pack the punch that I thought they would. That doesn't mean that I am not going to purchase some items. I am probably going to go with some lipgloss.

There are two parts to the collection: Mild and Wild, both of which provide staple MAC items. There are also accessories, but they are pretty overpriced, in my opinion. For example, the tote to the side costs $45. It's adorable, but ouch!

I tend to get good use out of items like eye shadows and lipglosses so I feel that those are the smartest buys, especially with this economy. Speaking of eye shadows, I do like the eyeshadow compact, but the colors included either aren't my fav. or I already have them.

A few items have sold out, but most are still available. I would say you should buy whatever you want this weekend, before others shoppers do.

So what do you all think? Are you going to purchase anything from this collection?

AE Fireball Pendant

My current necklace obsession comes from American Eagle, the AE Fireball Pendant. It's the perfect piece of jewelry for both dressy and casual occasions, as it has one side with rhinestone embellishments and the other with star and heart cutouts. I also love the 32 inch length.

If you're looking for a classic necklace that you will get your use out of, I suggest the AE Fireball Necklace. Priced at $15.50, and buy one get one 50% off (the great deal that AE always has), this is a steal!
If you head over to the American Eagle Web site, be sure to check out the great pricing on their comfy jeans!
