Island Daydreaming

This week, What the Hell Wednesday is dedicated to my poor excuse for a doctor. Last month I got sick while on vacation. Fast forward a month and a half and I am still sick. Luckily it died down fro a few weeks so I wasn't miserable the entire time, but it's back again in full force. I spend my Thanksgiving weekend in bed. Thanks, doc! It's magnified by a hundred because I have asthma. Luckily I have a breathing machine at my apartment or otherwise I'd have made about a dozen trips to the hospital.

What the hell? Why is it so hard to give a person who is clearly sick antibiotics? I finally got her to call some in yesterday. I hope it helps.

Thank you Christianna of The Girl With the Blue Bow for hosting this weekly rant. I needed to get that out today!

To help brighten my spirits, I'm reminiscing about my trip to the Dominican Republic. Last year on this day I headed to Punta Cana. This year, today, I'm at work...

Fittingly for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday, here are some Pinterest images I found, photos I snapped, and images from the resort's site. Beautiful right?

Got a secret, can you keep it?

I'm thrilled to have been invited to an event to celebrate Pretty Little Liars! I am a huge fan of the show - have been since the day it aired. In fact, I used to have viewing parties every week with Kate of Nautical by Nature. That's how obsessed we are with PLL. And it just keeps getting better.

From the fashion, to the men, to the mystery that is A, this show is super addictive. If you haven't watched, what are you waiting for? If you like drama, romance, mystery, and humor, you'll like Pretty Little Liars, really.

Stay tuned for my recap of the event next week. I'll have the opportunity to hear about the show's fashion, mingle with cast members, and step onto the set. I imagine it's going to be like my Hart of Dixie experience!

Man Candy Monday: Josh Duhamel

I'm taking it back to an old school crush this week. Josh Duhamel captured my heart as Leo Du Pres on All My Children over a decade ago. Back then he was super hot and over the years he grows more and more attractive.

Somehow he always plays the jerky, cocky role which makes me wonder if he has a similar personality in real life. I'd like to think no but either way, when you look like that, I guess you can get away with it!

Black Friday

Hope you all had memorable Thanksgivings filled with food, friends, and family. And of course, lots of rest! If you didn't see my post from yesterday (I know I wasn't online) check out my Christmas cards! Cheesy goodness :)

I know today is all about the best deal but I don't do Black Friday. I'm not a big fan of shopping in the first place, so when you add in a bunch of crazy consumers - some of which have camped overnight - who are prepared to take out anyone who stands in their way of a sale, that just sounds like a recipe for a miserable experience. For those of you who brave the crowds, more power to you!

Luckily I have all of my Christmas shopping done as of earlier this week! My parents' big gift are tickets to see the Chargers (dad's team) play the Broncos (mom's team) in San Diego this Sunday. Somehow it'll be my first professional football game. We really need an LA team again...

Anyways, if I were to go shopping on Black Friday, here's an outfit I'd sport. Notice the comfort factor?

Casual Attire

Now that I've put together this outfit, I kind of really want to recreate it in real life! Are you a fan?

If you're blogging about fashion today, head over to Long Distance Loving and Blonde Episodes and link up. It's a great way to get to know other bloggers!

I'm also linking up for Plenty to Be THANKful For blog challenge. Today's theme is Black Friday and leftovers. I'm thankful that I won't be experiencing Black Friday this year but WILL instead be chowing down on my fav leftovers like turkey, fried green beans covered in garlic and vinegar (so much better than it sounds), mashed potatoes, and cheesecake!

The Christmas Card Reveal

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have an amazing holiday, friends!

Somehow I won 100 photo Christmas cards this year...no joke! I entered two blogger giveaways figuring I wouldn't win and somehow won both! I even won a giveaway I didn't enter - long story short I commented saying something to the effect of "Good luck to those who enter. I'm not entering because I've already won another similar giveaway." Somehow I was still chosen to win 50 cards. Instead of hoarding them, I emailed the blogger back. Hopefully another winner is chosen and it brightens their day. I also gave away 25 to a friend who can use them. Good holiday karma? Hope so!

A little background on my cards...I'm single and childless so I went the way cheesy route and took a picture with my dog. Yup, my dog. It's less pathetic than me by myself though, right? Please say yes...

I'm not too fond of my round head in the picture I selected, but the pup looks good and this was the best pic out of the batch of about 50 taken last weekend.

So here's the design I went with via Shutterfly!

I know, not very Christmas-y. But I had a crazy theory. If they aren't holiday specific, maybe people will keep them up all year. What kind of insane, egocentric thinking is that?! Haha! But really, nobody keeps a Christmas card on their fridge all year. I know I don't. But if it was just a cute picture, I totally would.

I'm kind of regretting it now because there were SO many really cute card designs to choose from. Like you could spend hours picking out a design because they are all so adorable. I'm still pleased with these though.

I highly recommend Shutterfly holiday cards. Less than 24 hours after creating mine I received an email saying they'd already shipped. Pretty amazing.

I also love Shutterfly for business and note cards. I always order from them and am happy with the results. Plus, they have deals all the time so you're bound to get your projects made at a reasonable price! For example, holiday cards are up to 40% off right now and you get free shipping if you spend $30.

Thankful for Family

I have pretty amazing parents. They would do anything for me. My mom is constantly buying me groceries and gadgets for my apartment. My dad washes my car for me and comes to my apartment after work to pick up my dog so my parents can dog sit when I have plans (and I live an hour in the opposite direction from their home). So yeah, they are great!

Since today's Plenty to Be THANKful For topic (hosted by The Perfect Compilation Tape and a few other bloggers) is special people in my life, I thought I'd share some pictures of my parents and me. They are definitely the most important people in my life. We don't take a lot of pics, but here are a few for recent vacations over the past few years.

Scenes From the Weekend

This weekend was pretty low key for me, and I liked it that way. With Thanksgiving coming and then Christmas, it was the calm before the storm. Here are some scenes from the weekend, all of which were captured with Instagram, of course ;)

I headed to the mall to get a $40 price adjustment on my recent boots purchase (the boots I'm wearing in the last photo). Also stopped at H&M trying to find the holiday party dress I blogged about last Friday. Unsuccessful, but I did get a great cardi!

Made my dad snap like 2786023 pictures, trying to get a good shot for my Christmas cards this year. Yup, since I'm single and baby-less, friends will get a picture of me and my dog. Notice I'm wearing the sparkly H&M cardigan! This is not the picture I went with since my dog looks like a demon. Too bad because I actually look good in the photo! And look at her bottom teeth, she's smiling!

I'll post the actual card in a day or two.

Hung out at Starbucks with a friend on the rainy Sunday afternoon. Buy-1-get-1-free caramel brulees, baby!

And I even managed to get an OTTD pic snapped! I live alone and I don't have a high tech camera so outfits posts are few and far between.

Top and sweater from Target. Boots from Nordstrom. Scarf and red pants from Old Navy.

Man Candy Monday: Bradley Cooper

So sorry but I'm totally pressed for time. As a result, today will be picture heavy as opposed to pics/facts. I'm sure you won't mind once you see the photos below, though ;) Feast your eyes on this week's man candy, People's Sexiest Man Alive 2011, Bradley Cooper!
