It's classic, well-made, and I get a lot of compliments on it. I have literally used it every.single.day.

My Weekend...

Another beautiful weekend in Southern California. It's one thing to have 80 degree temps, but another for our flowers and trees to be in full bloom. It's like our little section of the country didn't get the memo that it's winter!

Aside from enjoying the pretty spring-like conditions, I also celebrated a friend's birthday Saturday.

It was great seeing my friends and catching up...until the bar lost my credit card. I tried ordering a drink but they couldn't locate my card. After an hour of them "looking" for it I asked for a status update and one of the bouncers came up to get the story. As I start to explain, another bouncer came over and asked what happened. When I started to tell them, the second bouncer put his hand in my face and said "Shut up, I'm not talking to you!" SERIOUSLY?! After another 45 minutes and yet another bouncer finally found my card. All good? Nope. He then told me I had to buy more drinks because I wasn't at the $10 minimum to use my credit card. So pissed! I tried buying another drink almost two hours earlier but they lost my card! I was not giving them any more of my money and demanded to speak to someone in charge and eventually the owner heard my story and comped my huge $8.50 bill.

Most ridiculous experiencer ever. It's one thing to lose my card, but another to disrespect me in the degrading way I was. And I was sober which the staff commented on (don't let the double fisting above fol you, I'm convinced there was zero alcohol in my drinks) so it's not like I gave them any reason to treat me poorly.

I know only a few of my readers live near me but for the sake of spreading a bad review online, I want to specifically call out the establishment. Do not go to Margarita Rocks in Upland, Ca. Complete shithole.

Even after that drama Saturday I did have a great weekend. I hope you all did as well!

We had 67 linkups for MMG! So awesome to see it grow. If you haven't linked up, join us Monday!

Attended WBTV's A Night of Comedy on Wednesday with Kate at a fancy theater and got up close and personal with the stars of Mom and Undateable.

Going to a birthday party tomorrow night and I'll get to hang out with friends I don't see often.

Realizing that saying "you get what you give" is not really true. It's more like "you give and people take".

Aunt Flo's visit yesterday. I left work early, got home by 11 and slept until 5:30.

WBTV’s Night of Comedy

Wednesday night I had the pleasure of attending WBTV’s Night of Comedy, a evening designed for TV critics to view some of the new Warner Bros. shows. I was thrilled to be a guest!

Upon arrival I was greeted with boxes of candy and alcoholic beverages then directed to a theater (and not just any theater, one of those fancy ones that have reclining chairs and waiter service) where I kicked up my feet and was served with a plate of food as the first screening of Undateable started.

A new comedy that will premiere mid-season on NBC, Undateable is centered around a group of dudes who collectively have a thing - or several - to learn about women and dating. Comprised of a cast full of stand-up comedians who happen to be friends in real life, the chemistry is strong and works well. These guys are funny! Chris D’Elia (who you may remember from Whitney) leads the bunch and their off-the-cuff humor will crack you up.

After the screening and a Q&A with the show's producers/writers, guests were invited to pick between The Big Bang Theory and MOM. Because I had yet to see the latter I headed to the theater and got cozy as another plate of food was served.

After the episode of MOM the show's stars, Anna Faris and Allison Janney, showed up for some conversation with the audience and prank calls to moms, including Anna's. These women are exactly the same off the screen as they are on your TV. They joke with one another, laugh like crazy, and genuinely like each other. I always wonder if casts really get along. This one does. Seeing them vibe off each other made me appreciate the show that much more, knowing that their comedic banter is legit.  FYI, the show airs Mondays on CBS at 9:30 ET/PT.

Next up was stand-up comedy from the guys of Undatable. Each of them did a set that had everyone in the audience cracking up. Their personalities are all so different, but equally funny. Hands down, the highlight of the night.

After the standup and a dessert break, we saw another episode of Undatable, then called it a night.

Overall, it was a blast and a great opportunity to check out shows that I really enjoyed. I hope you check out Undateable, especially. TV needs another good comedy and this one has so much potential. Plus one of the actors, Brent Morin, is kinda adorable. You'll thank me later, promise!

I'll be sure to keep you updated as to an air date when it's announced.

San Francisco Tips, Please!

As a California resident my entire life, you'd expect that I've been to San Francisco numerous times. Sadly, I can count the number of trips on one hand. In my defense, it's about an eight hour drive from LA, plus SoCal and NorCal might as well be two different states because we are COMPLETELY different.

The times I have been up north, I've seen all of the major attractions - Golden Gate, Alcatraz, Angel Island, Pier 39, Haight-Ashbury, The Painted Ladies (aka the Full House houses pictured above), etc. Next month I'm headed back to SF and I need some suggestions of what to do and see! I'm staying in Nob Hill and will have a full day Friday and Saturday to explore. Any suggestions? I'm looking for things that most people don't know about. That includes attractions, restaurants, shops - anything that I'd be able to check out and get to via taxi or BART.

Thanks so much!

J.Crew Factory Clearance Sale

Welcome to another edition of Monday Morning Gossip! I hope the weekend treated you well. Mine was nice and boring. I legit stayed in my pjs and didn't leave the house from Friday night until today. It was perfect.

In between catching up on my DVR and football on Sunday, I came across a J.Crew Factory clearance sale. Get an additional 40% of clearance items. Yes, please. Honestly, I don't ever shop at J.Crew. I just go straight to the Factory. They always have great deals and I'm all about saving a buck. The jewelry deals are especially awesome. You can score some great steals so be sure to check out that section!

Here are a few of my favorite items currently on the site. Happy shopping!

Be Done With the Rest

My 2014 goal is to be happy and to forget everything (and everyone) that stands in the way of that. I'm doing so-so. It's a lifestyle change, so I know it will take time. Small steps, starting with making an effort to do what's best for me and stop making excuses for why I let people treat me poorly. But, on that note, I need to be more assertive and hold myself more accountable. What's that saying about people only treating you the way you allow them to?

To keep myself on track I bought the print above, framed it, and placed it in a location that I see every single day. I'm hoping it serves to remind me that this is the year I start putting myself first.

Golden Globes 2014: Fashion Hits and Misses

I'm not a huge fan of awards ceremonies. They bore me. But I do love the fashion as much as the next person. I think there were a lot of beautiful gowns this year! I loved the sparkle. On the opposite side, while I didn't personally like some looks, and felt some dresses were horrendous, the others that landed on my least favorite list were mostly just eh. They weren't terribly tragic, but definitely missed the mark. Here are my picks for best and worst 2014 Golden Globes fashion.

Target Statement Necklaces

Target Necklaces

1 / 2 / 3

Target is quickly becoming my favorite place to buy statement necklaces. I love me some BaubleBar and will always buy from them, but there ain't no shame in a little Tarjay shopping - especially when they have such great choices AND the quality is usually better than other retailers selling pieces in the same price range (or even at a higher price point). Plus I get lots of compliments when I wear their necklaces.

Next time you visit Target head to the jewelry counter. Because the items are locked up they get overlooked so you can score gems at half price. I have two necklaces from the cases originally priced at $40 that I got for $20 each and every time I wear them I'm asked where they are from.

And speaking of great deals, how about a magazine subscription for free? Come enter my giveaway! Winner picks one of five publications.

Cheers, 2014!

Thank you baby Jesus for the end of 2013! I am more than ready for a brand new year. Resolutions are so cliche, and I never stick to them, but whatever. Here are my 2014 goals:

stop procrastinating
stand up for myself
get healthy
be positive
go out more

Really all of my goals are about being happy. I let others make me feel like I can't accomplish things. Screw that. I am worthy of doing every single thing that I want to. And I am going to make sure that happens this year.

Here's to achieving great thing in 2014!
