Faking the Fall

Tiny orange and white pumpkins

It's still in HOT in Southern California but I decided to fake the fall and went to two pumpkin patches this weekend. For the first one on Saturday afternoon it was 93 degrees. That's just stupid. But I couldn't resist pretending to be enjoying cooler temps...minus the boots, scarves, and seasonal Starbucks.

Sunday evening I went to the second pumpkin patch and after got ice cream since it felt like a summer night. Check out this amazing thing called a Milky Bun. It's a fresh-baked donut stuffed with ice cream and cereal (I chose the cookie butter ice cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch). HOLY YUM!

And before I go - sale alert on the perfect plaid flannel!

For Halloween I have to dress up twice - for work and a friend's party. I already decided last month to be a scarecrow for the party, so when my department at work chose the theme storybook I knew right away I was going to be Fern from Charlotte's Web. Totally easy to repurpose pieces. The main piece? My Old Navy plaid flannel below. It's the perfect orangish-red, super comfy, and since ON has weekly sales, you never have to pay full price for it!

Man Candy Monday: Tom Mison

Back at ya with another Man Candy Monday! This week's hunk is Tom Mison, who you may recognize as Ichabod Crane from Sleepy Hollow. The show is back for fall and I've fallen in love all over again. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a British accent.

Here's a little about the man of the week:

Thomas James Mison
Born July 23, 1982
From Woking, Surrey, England
Married (womp womp)
Best known for roles in TV's Sleepy Hollow and movies One Day and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

Now let's get to the important part. Pictures to drool over!

Aquarium of the Pacific Ticket Giveaway

Last Friday I had the opportunity to hang out at the Aquarium of the Pacific after hours for a special event called Night Dive. It only happens three times a year, and is a big party with live music, artists painting, and of course, access to the sea life. Such a cool experience! This was actually my first time at the Aquarium so I was all about petting the sharks and stingrays, watching the otters play then go to sleep (one was sucking it's thumb as it slept!), and snapping pics of the creatures.

The Aquarium is a great place for everyone - family day, a friend outing, or even a date. And the unique events make visiting even more exciting. From Thanksgiving Lunch and Desserts with Santa to round out this year, to Autism Families Night, Veteran's Day, and more in 2016 - there's always something fun taking place.

So you want to go? I have two tickets to give away! Enter below. Winner will be announced Monday. Good luck.

Create Your Own Fashion Statement With Zazzle

I am a sucker for a sunset photo. As a Southern Californian, I've grown up with Newport and Huntington Beaches right in my backyard and it's really magical to go to the coast and watch the sun go down. My Instagram feed is full of these pictures. That last one is my fave.

When I heard about Zazzle and their shirt customization I knew right away I wanted to select that sunset shot to create a cute, beachy tank. How fun is this top I made? ...and by made, I mean I literally just uploaded the picture. That easy.

If you're looking to create a personalized item, check out Zazzle. In addition to photos, you can also upload logos and/or add various fonts to make unique items such as mugs, phone cases, invitations, and so much more. Great gift idea for the fast-approaching holidays.

Shop the look:
tank  |  cardigan  |  sunglasses  |  necklace
watch  |  bracelet  |  pants  |  shoes  |  purse (similar style)

I am not ashamed to admit that those black pants are actually Old Navy jeggings. They are amazing. They look just like jeans and are so comfy. I live in them. Get get them now and thank me later!

Disclaimer: I was given my tank by Zazzle for free, in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
