Beauty Review: The Estée Edit

Estée Edit by Estée Lauder

I love Influenster so so much! Over the past few years I've had the opportunity to test out some fun products that I may not otherwise have experience. For example, this set from The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder. Upon first glance, I was bummed at the shades of makeup I'd received. They're just not my style, I thought. And then I tried them on and my world of colors expanded! Below is my take on each of the items.

The Estee Edit Metallishadow Creme + Powder
Metallishadow Creme + Powder in Cyberella - $25

I have fair skin so I stick to tamer hues when it comes to shadow. Bright colors make me straight up look like a clown. Purples and plums are not my friend...scratch that. Were not. This color of this two-in-one product is amazing! It goes well with my paleness and works well as a smokey eye - again a look I avoid because of my light complexion. You can use the creme as a base with the powder on top or separately. I actually use the creme as eyeliner sometimes.

Late Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm with Pink Peony

This product is designed to brighten the under eye area by reducing dark circles and puffiness. Apply under your concealer or over your makeup for a fresh look. Out of all of the products, it's the only one I haven't quite mastered. I didn't notice a difference BUT I think that's because I'm not applying properly because I don't use creams much. I will say it is lightweight and goes on smoothly which I like.

The Estee Edit Inside Track Eye Kajal
Inside Track Eye Kajal in Twisted Teal/Varnished Gold - $22

I have mixed feelings about this eyeliner duo. Again, I immediately thought I'd hate the colors. The greenish hue is too funky and the gold is too subtle. And then I tried it on and fell in love...again. The gold is subtle but really makes my green eyes pop and the teal is dark so it's not a wild color. The only thing I wasn't a fan of is the softness of the pencil. It broke upon first application. I think a lot will be wasted during application which is unfortunate.

Radiance Activator Treat + Prep + Glow

I want to love this product - and think I will - but I am still learning how to use it. Do I put it above or under powder? Someone fill me in! The directions say to use all over face but that'd be a bit much. I have never used a highlighter before so I need practice but once I get the hang of it, I'm pretty sure I'll be a big fan. The photo above shows before and after rubbing it in and you can see the color is a pretty iridescent.

Here's what the makeup looks like on me. I'm wearing everything except the Twisted Teal eye kajal. My eyes pop with the gold eyelilner and plum shadow combo. That's my favorite thing about this collection. In the second photo you can see the slight glow of the highlighter. And in both photos you can see the bags under my eyes so clearly I need to lather on the eye balm!

I'm also wearing CoverGirl Katy Kat mascara, MAC Mineralize blush in Warm Soul, and ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip in Clueless.

Overall, I am happy with this collection and have learned my lesson: never judge something by first glance! Estée Lauder has a big hit on their hands. I am excited to check out other Estée Edit products, all available at Sephora.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.
