I am all about trying new cosmetics. So, when I was able to test The Body Shop's new Mineral Makeup Line: Nature's Minerals, I was immediately excited. I have to say, this is my first experience with the brand and I was thoroughly impressed.
I am not really a big fan on most mineral makeup. I feel that it doesn't provide enough coverage for my personal needs. However, Nature's Minerals foundation works to conceal blemishes without looking too thick. I tested Shade 02, which was a bit dark for my complexion. But still a great color.
The blush was just as great as the foundation. Once again I chose a beautiful color, Golden Terracotta. This blush is versatile; for a daytime look only a light amount of the powder is needed, and for nighttime glam, I use a little more on my cheeks.
As for my favorite makeup item, eyeshadow, I was beyond pleased with the look that the Radiant Graphite provided. I am addicted to this shadow and wear it almost every single day. It's a flattering hue that will work magnificently on various skin tones.
I loved all of this makeup so much that I wore it to a job interview...which I landed! Perhaps due to my flawless cosmetics ; ) (more on the job to come!)

Great post! My fave makeup item is Chanel's Vamp Le Vernis nail polish. I first bought one about 15 years ago whe the color debuted, and I buy a new bottle ever year or so, as it NEVER goes out of style and always looks so chic for autumn/winter.

I agree with you on the mineral makeup. I tried the expensive kinds and the one I ended up liking best was like $10 at target! I got a set of mineral eyeshadows from sephora last year for christmas and I never wear them because they always crease and don't last long...any tips? I was just thinking about handing them on to the twins! Anyways, I am obsessed with my Nars face highligher, "albatross." It gives a perfect glow and the compact has lasted me a while.

ReplyDeleteHave you tried using a primer for the eyeshadow? I'm really bad and still use some that I bought from Skinmarket (which closed like 7 years ago). It really works. However, this eyeshadow is pretty awesome it doesn't crease at all!

ReplyDeleteI am a fan of mineral makeup. My fave makeup piece is definitely L'oreal True Match. It is a mineral powder like foundation that has an amazing coverage even in Winter months when my skin tone is very pale and any other makeup makes me look like I have paint on my face.

And someone said the Body Shop is pricy...but they're all about fair trade and building communities with fair wages around the world, so you pay for that, too. And not some child in a sweatshop! My fave is their blush, the Pink Quartz Nature's Minerals. It's pink, but not too subtle, not too bright, and its mineral makeup covers my cheeks perfectly.

I really like mineral make up, especially poweder... but one thing that I can't live without is my Chanel bronzer... I just love how fresh and glowy it makes my skin look... :)

I so love Pure Anada mineral make-up foundation because of the creamy finish and the staying power. I have pimple marks on my face and Pure Anada foundie did a very good job in covering all of those, not to mention that it's long-lasting too! No need to retouch during the day, considering that it's scorching hot in here. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have never tried the make up from the Body Shop, but the only shower gels/bubble baths I ever use anymore is The Body Shop. I am allergic to almost everything when it comes to soaps and The Body Shop guarantees hypoallergenic that is absolutely perfect for me!

I can't live without mascara, my life was almost ruined when Max Factor discontinued More Lashes as it was the only mascara light enough to hold a curl. But I'm using False Lash Effect which is just as awesome!
