Rent the Runway

Have you guys heard about this? Renting designer clothing at a fraction of the retail purchase price? While watching E!News I was intrigued when Giuliana mentioned Rent the Runway so I had to look further into this site.

As stated on Rent the Runway, here's how it works:

LOVE
Find a Look: Search the dresses and accessories you love from the top designers in the world!

WEAR
Pick a Date: Schedule a delivery date. Select a FREE backup size for the perfect fit. The dresses and accessories are yours for 4 or 8 days!

RETURN
Send it Back: Put your order in our pre-paid package and drop it in the nearest mailbox. We take care of the dry cleaning!

*Love, wear, return description taken in its entirety from Rent the Runway.

For example, check out this haute little Hervé Léger Posh X-Front Dress - the same dress that Victoria Beckham has rocked. Instead of buying it for $1,250, you can rent it for a mere $125. What a steal!

It sounds like it's literally as easy as 1-2-3! I wish they had this back when I was in school. It would have been a great deal to do this for prom. I could have rented a dress from an affordable designer, paying only $50. As opposed to buying a non name dress for $150 and never wearing it again.

Would you ever rent a dress from this site?

  1. I think I would rent a dress from website just to try it. But, I would only wear whatever I get for a special event not everyday.

  4. I've heard of this and it sounds awesome! I'd consider it if there was a dress I was dying to wear that was super expensive. Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. I forgot to respond to your comment. Yes, you can get Quinoa at the grocery store, but it's a lot cheaper at Trader Joe's. So that's where I get it. You should try it!

  10. i did hear of this website. somehow it feels unnatural to wear what one can't afford, but i am sure i can get over that. if a dress really caught my eye, i would definitely try this.

  11. This sounds fabulous!! It's kind of like bag-borrow-steal, the netflix for designer bags. I wish I had an event to go to that I could put this website to good use :)

  12. This is such a good idea and another one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” deals. I am fine investing in a good bag and higher end accessories, but when it comes to clothes, I’m pretty cheap. Most days Old Navy, Target and typical mall stores will do just fine. This would be so nice for special events and to really glam it up in a designer piece that you can send back and not have to feel guilty about.
