LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's Disappoints

Every time I go to Kohl's I head over to the LC Lauren Conrad section. Each time I find a lot of pieces, too much floral print, and high price tags. Don't get me wrong, there are a few items each season that I really like. I've just never liked any to throw down the amount that they are being sold for...even with the sales, discounts, and Kohl's cash that inevitably makes everything in the store affordable.

During my last trip I fell in love with a jacket made by LC called "High Tea" and had to try it on. (Pictured - sorry couldn't find a close up photo.) The shade of periwinkle, ruffle detail at the arm and hip, and overall style were right on point. Not sure I've found a blazer that I've loved so much. I was even willing to overlook the $40+ price, until I tried it on.

The craftsmanship was so bad that I was literally shocked. There was no inside lining and as a result every pocket and stitch could be seen through the jacket. There were lumps everywhere! I could have easily found a $20 blazer in better quality. As a result I had to pass it up. It's too bad because I really adored it.

Who in that camp is allowing pieces to be made so poorly? And does LC not have anything to do with the items she's endorsing?

Have any of you ran into this with the LC Lauren Conrad collection at Kohl's?

  1. That's too bad!! I haven't found anything wrong with the pieces I've gotten from her Kohl's collection...many of them are closet staples for me! I will say that the sizing can be off from piece to piece, but that's about it. I'm sorry that the blazer was so crappy...maybe a fluke??

  2. I've totally gotten over her line. The quality is AWFUL and most shirts don't survive the first couple gentle washings. And some of the new stuff is cut so weird. Disappointing for sure!

  3. I look at her pieces every time I go there, but I agree. The quality is TERRIBLE. I tried on this super cute cardigan with some beading and half of the bead had already fallen off - in the store! Not to mention that the threading was already pulling in places too. Not worth it.

  4. I was SO disappointed in her line for kohls! Also, I would NEVER pay that much for any clothing there!

  5. You know what--I haven't actually seen it cause I never go to Kohl's. Although I've been meaning to ever since you told me that's where you got the pretty ruffled top you were wearing when we had lunch! It's disappointing that her collection isn't well made, given that everyone envies her style . . . once I get off post-NYC financial lockdown I'll have to head that way and check it out in person.

And would you believe I don't own a single blazer? I pretty much only wear cardigans.

  6. Every time I go to Kohl's I se the LC clothes and think they look fabulous. That is until I get closer. Since her clothes are some of the most expensive at Kohl's I generally try to stay away from them. Of course I'm always on the look out for a good deal. ;)

  7. I'm a huge LC fan and have always wanted to check out her collection at Kohl's but I live in Canada. When I went to visit my mom in Cali, I forgot to check out Kohl's.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I am hoping that it was a one off. I would hate for Lauren to be selling such crap made clothes.

  12. I always like it but the second I touched things I was disappointed. Always thought it was me, being picky and all but apparently I'm not the only one. Her quality is just awful. :(

  13. booo...yes, i've def found the same thing with her collection...i'm all about a good deal, but it has to be at least decent quality! and no lining?! ugh, shameful. geez, i feel like the apparel industry is going so downhill with all the fighting to be the cheapest...
    anyway, have a great day!

  14. No, but I think that's expected with department store brands.

  19. That really stinks because from the pic, it looks like it has so much potential. I'm just starting to get into Kohl's and will have to pay attention to LC's line. I won't shop there unless they have a good sale.

  22. Couldnt agree with you more! I randomly went in there the other night and was stoked to see her collection. I was left like "ok...is there more"?? the pieces looked so unflattering and dull. I was not impressed!

  23. I too have found the LC pieces thrown together. I tried on one of her shirts and 2 of the buttons were missing. A total joke.

I'm a new blogger and I'm doing my first giveaway. A Diane Von Furstenberg Scarf - vintage 70's.

  24. AGREE - i think it's VERY affordable - but quality is AWEFUL - when i hit up Kohls i always check too - but all of her stuff has holes somewhere or edges are falling apart - def AWEFUL quality - but it's making her rich!

  25. I bought a black boyfriend blazer from the LC line about a year ago and it has worked for me. Just last week I bought some jeans, they seemed flattering when I tried them on, lets hope I don't regret that purchase.
