Americana Music Awards

In exactly two weeks from today, I'll be on a plane headed to Nashville to see a great friend. I've never been and I am super excited. I've never had a real southern experience. In fact, I am now eating meat after three years of being a vegetarian, just so I can get the BBQ experience. Yup, I am ready for a good time!

In addition to touring plantations, hitting up the bar scene, visiting Galtinburg, tailgating at a UT game, and taking a haunted tour of Nashville, I just changed my flight so I could attend the Americana Music Awards! I may not know a lot about the artists, but we get to sit among the celebs (real seats, not filler seats thanks to my friend's awesome job!) and enjoy a night at the Ryman Auditorium, the original location of the Grand Ole Opry. Plus it gives me an excuse to go buy a new dress and heels ;)

So in spirit of my upcoming country music experience, here's a little inspiration, Pinterest style.

    You are going to love the South! Nashville is a great place to experience it for the first time. Second only to Savannah! {I may be just a little biased on that one} ;) I cannot wait to hear about your experience! Have fun!

    Ok, the haunted Nashville tour sounds amazing! But then again any haunted tour always sounds like a good time to me! I tried to go on the "Jack The Ripper" tour in London, but we couldn't fit it in :(

    The Americana Music Awards sound like they will be brilliant fun! What does your friend do as a job?

    And I love that picture from "Walk The Line". Gah, that movie is soooo brilliant! One of my favorites!

    Take so many pictures and have the most amazing time, my friend! I LOVE Johnny Cash so much, and am DYING to visit Nashville some day (even though I'm not a country music fan, minus Johnny!). I almost went to Vanderbilt for college - I kind of wish I did so I could have gotten that Southern experience!

    what made you decide to start eating meat? did you have any side effects? dont worry i can handle tmi, one of my friends has been a lifelong vegetarian and she sometimes wonder how things would be if she started introducing meat into her diet

    I'm always excited about people traveling to the south since I'm a Texas girl :) I have never been to Nashville though and I'm so jealous of you!! And how exciting that you are getting a true taste (a little pun there since you'll be indulging in meat again! I love BBQ so much so to me you're making such a wise choice) of the south with the awards show! :) I'm such a huge fan of Johnny Cash - I'm loving the pins!
