Fall TV Guide 2011

Hi, my name is Leeann and I'm a TV-oholic.

You see, I watch far too much television. It consumes every night during the week. It's gotten so out of control that I can't even keep up with the addiction anymore. Although I'm really tempted to buy another TV for my apartment and pay for an extra DVR, I am going to hold strong and instead do the unthinkable - cut shows from my Fall TV watch list. Well, that is if my parents' DVR can't record the programs I want to watch.

Below is my list of shows for Fall. It doesn't include cable. For example, on Thursdays I also have Project Runway and Jersey Shore. That takes my count up to eight shows on one night. Impossible to watch all of them! What's a girl to do? I'm actually really sad about having to stop (or never start) watching shows.

Monday
Gossip Girl - 8pm on CW
House - 9pm on FOX (I had to skip last year due to schedule conflicts)
New Hart of Dixie - 9pm on CW
New The Playboy Club - 10pm on NBC

Tuesday
90210 - 8pm on CW
Glee - 8pm on FOX
Biggest Loser - 8pm on NBC (I think I'll have to give this up)
New Ringer - 9pm on CW
New Unforgettable - 10pm on CBS
Body of Proof - 10pm on ABC

Wednesday
Modern Family - 9pm on ABC
Happy Endings - 9:30pm on ABC
New Revenge - 10pm on ABC

Thursday
The Vampire Diaries - 8pm on CW
Parks and Rec - 8:30pm on NBC
The Office - 9pm on NBC
Bones - 9pm on FOX (not happy losing this one!)
New Person of Interest - 9pm on CBS (Looks like I'll never get to start on this show)
New The Secret Circle - 9pm on CW
New Prime Suspect - 10pm in ABC

Friday
New Grimm - 9pm on NBC (Ugh! This gets cut. Sad.)
Supernatural - 9pm on CW
Fringe - 9pm on FOX

Sunday
New Once Upon a Time - 8pm on ABC

I have to say that the CW is kicking butt. They already have a few of my fav shows and the new shows look amazing! I'm super excited to have the opportunity to pre-screen Hart of Dixie thanks to my bloggin' bud, Kate of Nautical By Nature! More info to come soon.

What does your list look like? As pathetic as mine? Please, say yes so I don't feel even worse about myself.

I did manage to squeeze in 8 1/2 books this summer so I wouldn't feel so unintelligent come TV season. Does that help my case? :)

Today I'm linking up with Kori of Blonde Episodes for her first installment of Flirting With Temptation! I'm pretty sure I am way too tempted by TV!!

  1. I limit myself. So in the fall I'll be watching 11 shows total, all on my DVR. I HATE limiting myself, but you gotta do it! And I won't even touch CW, because I know I'd get sucked in & I think my husband would kill me. (We watch all of our shows together, with a few exceptions, like Glee)

I LOVE fall premiers though!! So excited they started this week!

  2. I think I'm going to have 5 shows... Hart of Dixie, Gossip Girl, Glee, Ringer, and Grey's Anatomy. So I guess I'll have Wed and Fri nights free - that's something right? Though to be honest I really need to set up my DVR I've had sitting in my house for THREE YEARS =\

  3. I've been meaning to do a fall TV post but there's JUST TOO MANY!!!! I feel overwhelmed. Thursdays are torture. What are we going to do?!?!

  4. I am totally overwhelmed too. How am I ever going to watch them all? I just know my DVR (or my husband) is going to explode.

  6. This makes me SO happy to see! :) I work as a Media Buyer and so I am SO pleased to see that a ton of the TV shows I place advertising in are on your list! :) I'm pretty impressed with the CW's line up, they really are stepping up their game! :) I definitely LOVE this time of year just because of Fall Premieres! :)

  8. I tend to wait till stuff comes out on DVD! Or I'll watch it on the comp if I get sucked in. I don't pay for cable. and I hate commercials, I just can't do it...

Your list looks wonderful though. No matter what people say I do love me some CW shows! They are so wonderful and cheesy, but legit at the same time. It's confusing!

  9. Can't wait for Glee and I am excited about Up All Night!!! Other than that, I don't get to watch TV =)

  17. i saw today the preview for grey's anatomy... it look good but def will try to check some of these out

  18. I'm stopping by from the Blonde Episodes!

My fall schedule does not look as bad as yours but I've had to make an effort every year to trim my dvr list. I think the only new show I'm adding is Once Upon a Time b/c its easier to avoid new shows then cut out some old ones! The dvr has definitely made my tv list much, much worse though!

    I´m your new follower :)

  20. I watch a lot of tv too. There is a new one from, I think, Showcase, called "Homeland". Claire Danes stars, and it looks very very good.

  21. Congrats on 8.5 books! What was the half? We watch so many of the same shows! We have a TiVo so it can record two channels at once AND you can watch another. And, we have three of them! So I can record anything and everything, but I never have the time to watch it.

  22. Hi, my name is Selma and I'm a TVholic. Or is it TVoholic? Oh well, you know what I mean. :) So far I can say that I'll be watching the Ringer for sure! :) Hehehehe! Loved the first episode! Wohoo! :D

    Happy Thursday girl.

  23. I never end up watching all of the shows I record. There are ALWAYS some that aren't good or get canceled so totally fine to record a ton ;)

  24. I need to hear more about Hart of Dixie!! I love Rachel Bilson so much, and "Dixie" sounds like the south to me . . . right up my alley. :)

I love tv too. I watch The Bachelor/ette, Jersey Shore, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Sons of Anarchy (!!!), One Tree Hill . . . oh and American Idol and The Voice when they're in season. :)

Also, I watch a lot of Grey's Anatomy reruns, especially when I'm in a melancholy mood. LOVE IT. So comforting.

    XOXO!

  35. I can't wait for fall TV (Ringer has already started - YAY - and it was so good!). I love tv too... it's so good! Have a great weekend! XOXO

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh my heck, *raises hand* i am right there w/ you!! i got rid of cable two or so years ago, and it was the best thing for my tv watching, tho! i watch everything online and when i'm home on the weekend (which lately has NOT been often) i can have marathons & catch up w/ everything!

some things fall by the wayside, it's true - but then those shows come out on DVD & i can have marathons! : ) don't give up on your favorite shows! saturdays & sundays are made for catching up. except when you are out of the house, in which case they are for playing w/ adorable nieces & nephews & shopping for birthday presents (today) but hey! there's alwyas midnight - 3am! ; )

good luck w/ all your shows! having said all of the above - i'm still trying to make sure i can squeeze in my soaps, which is more difficult since they're every day! *laugh*

  37. lmao omg yes my schedule is just as pathetic... so much that I finally invested in DVR because no way I'm going to be able to keep up with all shows :p
