The SoCal Color Run

I completed the SoCal Color Run! And I did it with an amazing group of ladies including two of my friends, Kathrin and Tiffany, blogger Selma and her friend Marjan, and blogger Meg and her husband.

The Color Run is a new, fun 5K that has taken the US by storm. From what I understand, the event has been selling out all over the nation. In fact, the one that I participated in reached maximum capacity so a second Run was added.

Tiffany, Kathrin, me, Marjan, Selma, and Meg before the race

The event consists of several checkpoints where colored powder is thrown all over participants. Then at the end of the race everyone gathers and there's a powder party where the dust is thrown by everyone. The entire sky turned pink for several seconds and it was incredible!

After the race, and after event celebration we were COVERED in rainbow colors. So. Much. Fun. Check out this before and after picture of us!

I know a bunch of bloggers have mentioned they are doing The Color Run near them, or they want to. I highly recommend it. If you see one in your area sign up before they sell out! If you're not a runner (like me) don't worry, you can totally walk the 5K. I thought it was more fun that way because I was able to take in the whole scene.

Next year I'll definitely sign up for The Color Run again!

  8. I'd be very curious as how well it comes out of your clothes? I think I'd be okay wearing older clothes for this run, but what happens to your shoes? Does the paint come out? It does look like a lot of fun! xoxo

  14. I really loved seeing your instagram pics of this . . . but I'm so jealous! My sister ran the Atlanta one and I reeeeeeally wanted to do it, but obviously I can't with my broken foot. :( What a fun way to do a race! I'm gonna check out their website and see when their dates are . . . guess I'll have to wait till next year. Y'all look so cute all covered in neon!

  18. My daughter was just talking about this the other day and saying how much fun it would be. She thought it was colored water. I will have to see if there is one coming near of us. I would have to walk it but that's o.k., it would be the most colorful walk I've ever been on! So glad you had so much fun. xo
