Cleopatr...uhhh I don't think so...

OK I know I am a few months late, but I just barely saw the pics of Kim Kardashian posing as Cleopatra for Harper's Bazaar back in March. Don't get me wrong, I think Kim's beautiful and I love that she embraces her curves (can I get an amen?!), but she is not on point in this photo shoot.

When I think Cleopatra, I think of a bold, powerful, dark-haired beauty adorned in jewels. So Kim K. sounds like the perfect fit. Not so much. She has the same scared pose in almost all of the photos in the Harper's photo shoot album.





However, there are two photos that she pulled off. Maybe it's because she's smiling?

    LOL, I hadn't seen these pics. I think Kim should stick to the reality tv gig and club appearances....she's no model/actress......that's what I see in the pics anyways. I of course know a thing or two about REAL MODELS because I watch America's Next Top Model :)

    Hadn't seen these photos either, so don't worry. ;) And no, DON'T like them at all. I love her, yes. Love that she really embraces her curves and lives life to the fullest etc etc. AMEN. ;) But don't like her as Cleopatra...nope nope nope. :(
    It doesn't even look her Cleopatra...looks like she's dressed up for Halloween or a really bad costume party. :( Sorry. Nope.

    Yeah, I don't buy it like I do when you see some celebs dressed like others in photo shoots. Kim just looks like she's going to costume party.

    I agree, the ones of her smiling look a lot better but I still think she could have done better overall.

    I definitely think they're lacking. Maybe it's because she has almost the same facial expression in all the shots? I heard a rumor that Angelina Jolie might be playing Cleopatra for the feature film...I think that's a better fit for the role!

    I'm not a Kim K fan -- I think she's only beautiful because she's been under the knife a few too many times and wears way too much makeup -- and also, as others have said, she is not an actress and she's definitely not a model. She looks awful in these photos and does no justice to the Cleopatra name. They should have styled her differently and made sure she didn't wear the same boring, lifeless face in every. single. shot.

    I like the last picture. Otherwise, I agree with you. She does sound like the perfect candidate with those gorgeous dark looks, but she needs to be more bold/fierce in her face! Plus, some of the outfits are a lil too skimpy for Cleopatra, ha!

    Considering that, historically, Cleopatra was not what we'd think of as a modern beauty, I have a hard time swallowing Kardashian's poses. There is no regalness in them, no poise, no power. There is some pout, which I think disempowers her.

    That being said, I do like the shots where she is smiling- not because they are "Cleopatra-esque", but because she's smiling. And everyone in a photo should be smiling and happy like that.

    She doesn't look relaxed at all. It's almost as though she is trying to hard. Or quite possibly she's just having an off day... She looks good but, not her usual.

    I think the smile is definitely what makes those last two work. When Kim poses in pout mode she looks like she's sucking in her breath. Although she's gorgeous, for sure.

    lol ugh I just can't stand her in general, and what people's fascination with her and her sister is. though I have to admit I've watched a few epsoides of her show, and I hate myself for it hahahaha regardless she is quite pretty

    I'm not the biggest fan of Kim K. so I would be a bit biased in judging the pictures, but she is a beautiful woman and I love Cleopatra!

    Great post, I remember seeing these pics but didn't really look close. You're right, she looks a little clueless like she has no idea how to channel Cleopatra. She is so beautiful though and I agree, she looks better smiling.

    I must be late to this too, because I don’t remember even hearing about this photo shoot. I guess I can see why since the photos are underwhelming. She could have nailed this, but the poses are way off. I would expect the same strong look as you. If I had to pick a favorite from the bunch, it would be the 2nd one of her in the leopard dress on the couch.

    i love kim too and i think she is absolutely stunning when she smiles!

    the posed stuff doesn't do it for me. although i doubt that harpers was trying to "do it" for me anyway :)
