Vampires & Divergent

Another great weekend in the books full of fun activities with my blogger bestie, Kate of Nautical By Nature! Kate and I met four years ago at the very first Vampire Diaries Paleyfest panel in 2010. She had an extra ticket and invited me to join along and we became fast friends from that day on. Since Saturday was TVD Paleyfest, this weekend marked our friend-aniversary. Aww!

A little background on Paleyfest - it's a two-week event that takes place every year, where popular shows are featured. A panel of actors, directors, and the such talk about the show and answer audience questions. If you didn't catch my review of the Pretty Little Liars panel, check it out!

The Vampire Diaries

The Originals

Luckily, The Vampire Diaries has been featured a few years now. And this year TVD cast was joined by The Originals. Pretty much a double feature made in heaven! The actors are always charming, the panel is informational, and it's fun to stare at hot actors for a few hours.

Look who I got to meet at the event - Brianna of Heart of Life! I've read her blog for years and we have a lot in common so it was super exciting to finally meet her. She's so much fun!

Me and Brianna - I have no idea why it's impossible to fix iPhone eyes! Please ignore.

Me, some random dude, and Kate!

After the Paleyest fun Kate and I caught a showing of Divergent. Holy hell! It's official, I am in love with Theo James. Did you see my post about him last week? Read it now. You're welcome! Anyways, the movie was really good. It did stray from the book, as movies always do, but the film wasn't changed so much that it was upsetting. I LOVE the Hunger Games books and do not like the movies. I am really happy to say this was not the case with Divergent. Go see it!

The Vampire Diaries at PaleyFest

On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending The Vampire Diaries panel at PaleyFest with my friend Kate of the wonderful blog, Nautical By Nature. This was our second time attending. Two years ago we went to see TVD also, and it was the first time we met. Back then, the show was new and not as popular as it is today. This year the screaming fans seemed to have multiplied greatly. Despite the mas hysteria, once again we had an amazing time!

In attendance were Julie Plec (Executive Producer), Nina Dobrev (“Elena Gilbert”), Paul Wesley (“Stefan Salvatore”), Ian Somerhalder (“Damon Salvatore”), Candice Accola (“Caroline Forbes”), Matthew Davis (“Alaric Saltzman”), and Kat Graham (“Bonnie Bennett”). The entire cast seemed to have good chemistry and spent the night cracking jokes.

The night started with a viewing of this week's TVD episode. We were swore to secrecy so I won't give away any spoilers but there's a twist and a new storyline will take place that you DEF were not expecting. After the viewing, the panel answered questions from the moderator and then the audience. Here's what I learned about the cast...

*Kat Graham was the quietest of the bunch.
*Matt Davis is a bit of a creeper (in a funny way) and is campaigning for Ric and Elana to hook up.
*Nina Dobrev was a bit shy but didn't hide the fact that she dates Ian in real life.
*Ian Somerhalder the loudest of the bunch, hotter in person, and made jokes about his real life relationship with Nina.
*Paul Wesely is the dark mysterious type and you can tell he really thinks about his words before speaking, and also hotter in person.
*Candice Accola was a fan favorite and the audience cheered for her more than Nina!

Here's a video I took of Paul and Ian joking about the brothers' vampire status and how they should mimic Forrest Gump's appearances in popular events over the years.

If you'd like to see it, here's The Vampire Diaries Livestream of the event.

Overall it was a great time and I highly recommend those in the LA area attend PaleyFest in the future. It's held once a year and boasts great lineups. This year included the shows Revenge, Once Upon a Time, Castle, and many others. You won't be disappointed!

If interested, check out my recap of the first Vampire Diaries at PaleyFest two years ago.

Teen Choice Awards 2010

OK so a few days ago I turned 27 but that doesn't mean that I have to grow up! I am actually enjoying the Teen Choice Awards 2010 right now. A big congrats to Katy Perry for her hosting. I may only be an hour in but so far she's done an amazing job. She's always so adorable and fun.

The dresses were gorgeous - shimmer, shimmer. and more shimmer! You can never go wrong with a little (or a lot, for that matter) dazzle! Here are some beautiful numbers.

Did you love this little glittery number as much as I did?

Lea Michele sparkled as well!

No dazzling embellishments but Leighton Meester always shines!

And some eye candy, the guys from Vampire Diaries! If you haven't hopped on this train yet, what are you waiting for? Seriously! Hot dudes, mystery, romance, cliffhangers...it's amazing! And of course, I especially love Nina Dobrev's jeweled dress!

Best part of the night (even though I'm still watching, I know nothing will top this) Sandra Bullock and Betty White shaking their stuff after winning best dance category. Betty made a surprise appearance to join Sandra on stage and they were hilarious. Unfortunately all videos of the moment have already been removed, but check back and you may catch a glimpse of it!
