Man Candy Monday: Eric Winter

Hi everyone, this is Selma blogging over at Crazy Little World Of Mine. I simply couldn't say no when Leeann asked me to guest post for her while she is enjoying wonderful New Orleans. Even though she deserves a break and some time away, I can't wait for her to come back and tell us all about her adventures!

For months now, Leeann's been working on weekly Monday posts where she introduces us to hot dudes. Literally. And it just so happened that, yes, I am going to introduce you to one of my favorite men today. To find someone I can drool over is seriously my favorite time of the week. What more is there to say?! Really.

So without further ado, here's the Man Candy I chose for this week, and I slightly know that Leeann approves of this hunk!

Have fun!

What do you think? Is he worth being on Man Candy Monday?!

Trust me, your Monday is going to be so much better!

Thanks Leeann for giving me to opportunity to stop by today.
Hope you enjoyed my guy today, and come on over to say hi to me as well. I don't bite I promise!

Have a great week!

NOLA Friday's Fancies

Happy Friday! I'm {av} and I'm filling in for Leeann while she is galavanting around New Orleans! Most days, you can find me posting on my blog, {long distance loving}, but I'm happy to grace the pages of Join the Gossip today. Leeann has been a faithful poster for my weekly link-up, Friday's Fancies, for quite some time now, so it's especially fun to share an outfit perfect for Bourbon Street :) Since Friday's Fancies is all about dreaming, this outfit isn't held back by a budget. {Fun, right?} I hope you enjoy!

1) A short and sassy dress, like this Nina Mini Dress from Susana Monaco, would work beautifully for New Orleans. Even though it isn't Mardi Gras, I stuck with the green+yellow+purple theme which is so characteristic of NOLA ;)
2) These easy Kate Spade Faceted Stud Earrings helped bring the rich purple into this outfit. I love the way it contrasted against the green too!
3) With a little jingle-jangle, this Ankora Smooth Gold Bangle Set would add a little fun to this ensemble without overwhelming it.
4) The bold yellow of this See by Chloe Twirl Crossbody Bag provided the final touch of color to this get-up. With the crossbody feature, it would be easy to navigate the crowds without worrying about your bag.
5) Heels may not be the best for the crazy streets of NOLA, but these Michael Kors Ruby Metallic T-Strap Wedge Sandals had to complete this outfit. Gorgeous and sophisticated, these wedges could work for almost any night-on-the-town outfit in Leeann's bag.

Many thanks to Leeann for having me today--I'm so jealous of her jaunt to New Orleans!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend :) Stop by and see me soon! xoxo {av}

Guest Post: Bourbon Street History

Hi Everyone! Wes coming to you from Life Through Preppy Glasses. Stop over and say hi if you have a minute! I hope Leann is enjoying her time down in NOLA...im pretty jealous!

Every city has the famous street that every one instantly associates with it. Like Madison Avenue and New York, Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills, or Worth Avenue and Palm Beach. Since Leann is off having fun in  New Orleans, it would only be appropriate to feature the famous New Orleans street.

Bourbon Street

Bourbon street spans the wonderful French quarter of New Orleans, and is one of the go-to spots in the city. Heres a little trivia: what is this street named after? You guessed it, the House of Bourbon which was the ruling French family at the time.

The street is home to many many restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops. One of the more well known spots is Galatoire's. Of course this description would not be complete without mentioning the fact that Bourbon Street is home to the wild Mardi Gras fete of New Orleans.

What's your favorite iconic street that you've visited??
Keeping with the French theme, I have to admit that mine is the Avenue des Champs Elysees in Paris. I havent experienced anything quite like it anywhere else.

The SoCal Color Run

I completed the SoCal Color Run! And I did it with an amazing group of ladies including two of my friends, Kathrin and Tiffany, blogger Selma and her friend Marjan, and blogger Meg and her husband.

The Color Run is a new, fun 5K that has taken the US by storm. From what I understand, the event has been selling out all over the nation. In fact, the one that I participated in reached maximum capacity so a second Run was added.

Tiffany, Kathrin, me, Marjan, Selma, and Meg before the race

The event consists of several checkpoints where colored powder is thrown all over participants. Then at the end of the race everyone gathers and there's a powder party where the dust is thrown by everyone. The entire sky turned pink for several seconds and it was incredible!

After the race, and after event celebration we were COVERED in rainbow colors. So. Much. Fun. Check out this before and after picture of us!

I know a bunch of bloggers have mentioned they are doing The Color Run near them, or they want to. I highly recommend it. If you see one in your area sign up before they sell out! If you're not a runner (like me) don't worry, you can totally walk the 5K. I thought it was more fun that way because I was able to take in the whole scene.

Next year I'll definitely sign up for The Color Run again!

Let's Go on a Picnic!

Picinic Time!
With warmer weather comes the desire to be outside, soaking up the sun and taking in the beautiful days. Doesn't a picnic sound amazing? Somehow I have never really been on a picnic. Crazy, I know. Therefore, that's my mission this spring. I WILL make it happen before the season's end!

This weekend I'll be packing for NOLA and participating in a charity run (I'll be walking) with friends and bloggers. I'm looking forward to it. I hope you all have great weekends as well.

Spring Footwear

Target Sandals

Espadrille wedge sandals, $30 // Jeweled sandals, $20

There's something about Target and footwear that just works. I bought the wedges and sandals above and am kinda in love with both pairs. Not gonna lie, the wedges take some getting used to and although I've only worn them once, I almost busted my ankles several times. The sandals are really cute! Cuter in person, but I just bought them and am wearing them today so I'm not sure how comfy they actually are.

But for only $50 for both pairs, I think I did a pretty good job!

Pretty Pastels

Pretty Pastels

Ugh, I've been sick all week. I woke up at 6am on Easter morning to an asthma attack. Then the flu and a major cold followed. I mean shivering with a heater blasting on 80, coughing 'til my throat is sore beyond belief, and congestion that you don't even want to know about. I've been out of work all week and look a hot mess. As a result, I need pretty, cherry pastels in my life!

This week I came up with three looks - all featuring items from H&M. Yup, everything above is currently on H&M's site. I may have to do some shopping soon. It is the best medicine, right? ;)
