Boots!

I own two pairs of boots. Both are suede. One pair is black, knee-high, with a heel, and from Target. The other pair is brown, mid-calf, slouchy, no heel, and made by Kenneth Cole. While I love both pairs, the black ones kill my feet and the brown ones are pretty casual. I need a good pair of leather boots that hit at the knee.

My issue with boots are my wide calves. I have always played sports and I have muscular legs. So annoying. Boots never fit me correctly. Despite this dilemma, I think I am going to take a leap of faith and order a pair of wide calf boots on Macys.com.
Sorry for the picture, it's so tiny! You can kind of get the picture though. There is some nice detailing and a cute, dainty button on the ankle. While the heel is three inches high, it looks wide enough that it won't hurt my feet.

Unfortunately, these boots aren't sold in any Macy's stores BUT if they don't fit I can return them in-store. So worst case scenario, I return them if they aren't what I expect. I need a free shipping code though, no way I am paying $15 to have them shipped. Anyone know of any codes? :D

Have any of you bought shoes/boots online? If so, how was the experience?

Update: Macy's is having Labor Day free shipping! Discount code: LABORDAY

Very cute... the good part is that you can return them if they are not comfortable. xo

I have the exact same issue and I think mine stems from dance and ice skating over the years. I have to do wide calf with boots or else I’m going to have issues.

Those boots are really cute and Naturalizer’s are so comfortable. These would be great for work and play.

I have ordered shoes online before and I usually shop through endless.com because they have free and fast shipping. If you buy these, you must use eBates if you don’t already. It is a way to earn free money. You may already use it, but if not, let me know and I’ll send you the link. I get a check every quarter and it is wonderful!

have i purchased boots online? that's like asking if i breathe air. uh YESSS!!! ;)

i've only had one bad experience and that was just because the boots were not at all how they appeared online. the return process was easy peasy so it wasn't that bad.

I have only owned 1 pair of boots. I think I am too tall to wear them =) I do LOVE them, but not sure if they "fit" me!

Love those boots! I have the same problem with tall boots. I have order a "few" pairs of shoes online and have had to return a few as well and I have not run into too many problems as a result.

I've never purchased boots before but I have purchased a swimsuit and it worked out fine! I have muscular legs (Irish dancing) so I know how you feel- why can't boots be made with a little extra room? I love your choice, they are so cute.

I usually only buy my clothing and shoes in store but I have heard some great things about online shopping espically at macys. As for codes, try to google them or possibly wait until they site has a free shipping promotion. I agree, 15 dollars is outrageous!

Kisses,
Stephanie

I LOVE those! I may have to get a pair myself. My calves are way big and those things never fit.

PS- They have a free shipping code good through Sept. 6th if you spend $99. Promo Code: LABORDAY

Those are gorgeous! I've purchased shoes and boots online loads, the best thing is you can try them on properly at home with different things and walk around to see how comfy they are

THANK YOU, dear! Thanks to competitive cheerleading in high school and lots of time on the elliptical since then, I also have wide calves. I'm desperate for a pair of brown riding boots but they're SO hard to find in a good size.

Looks like the awesome kind to have. I have to go for a shorter boot because I'm short.

I was just thinking that I want a pair of boots. The ones you've picked are cute! I like that ankle button. I'm a heels girl, so I'd totally opt for the high ones anyway. :)

oh yeah! I have ordered lots of boots/shoes (and other stuff online)... its great and most of the time I don't pay for shipping.

Sometimes I order 2 sizes of the same thing, keep the one that fits and return the other.

Zappos has the best return policy.
I also like Macy's though I hope you are happy with your purchase.

I love those boots but my calf is way too large for that boot. I recently found a wonderful website http://www.widewidths.com and
for the first time in my life I have finally found my first pair of wide calf knee high boots! I am only a size 12 in clothing but my calf is 18” and when you buy something online, every company calls their boots a "wide calf" but when they arrive you find that they are only an inch or 2 larger than the standard boots that the stores carry since those generally have 14 - 15" calves. This is so frustrating and I have been so upset for years because I could never find boots in stores and I had to return everything I bought online. The best part is that they list the calf size for every foot size so you know exactly what size you are actually getting and as long as you measure your calf, the boots should fit. These are the boots that I bought and they are even nicer in person: http://www.widewidths.com/maryland.html
