Shop the H&M Online Store

Now that H&M has an US online shop I've had to seriously refrain myself from buying everything I want. It's so amazing to have the access but scary that it's that easy to drain my bank account now. To celebrate the recent launch, the site has a bunch of great deals for $10 - blazers, pants, tops & more. Have you check it out yet?

I actually had a few of the below items in my shopping cart but am going to wait to buy them. If the items are still available when I get my next paycheck then it'll be a sign for me to snag them, right?! At the very least I need to grab that shirt...in several colors.

Happy shopping!

Wedding Wear

I adore H&M and BaubleBar. I could seriously get by shopping at those two stores alone. Since wedding season is upon us, here are two wedding looks I put together using only those shops.

Wedding Wear

H&M Sleeveless dress, $39 / H&M shoes, $23 / H&M shoes, $31 / H&M straw handbag, $13 / H&M straw handbag, $13 / BaubleBar yellow gold jewelry / BaubleBar silver bangle bracelet / BaubleBar cluster earrings

Memorial Day Weekend Love

Friends. This weekend I had the pleasure of attending Kathrin (of Shop.School.Sleep.'s) graduation! She just got her second Masters - she's clearly a showoff ;) No but really, I'm so proud of her and was happy to share the special day with her.

White Lace. I finally wore my H&M white lace dress that I got two months ago. Since starting my new job I've totally gained weight (free soda and snacks are no bueno for my waistline!) so it was a little snug. Motivation to lose weight.

U.S.A. Memorial Day! It's not just an extra day to BBQ people. I'm thankful that we have the freedoms we do as a result of the brave military and their dedication to protecting our nation.

Gatsby. On Monday I woke up early and decided I wanted to go to the movies. Gatsby started in 40 minutes so I got dressed and went - by myself. My mom thought it was crazy and said it wasn't normal. Maybe it's not. But I figured I'd been on vacations and to other countries alone, why not the movies? It's OK to be independent and have alone time!

If you're in Southern California, be sure to check out the J.Crew Factory blogger meetup I'm co-hosting with Meg of henning love. We'd love to have you join us. RSVP today to reserve your spot.

Spring 2013 Wardrobe

It's Monday, Monday, Mondaaaaaay...sang no one ever. But alas, another work week is upon us. To help a little with the Monday blues, I'm guest blogging over at Lena B, Actually. Go check it out and enter to win a $15 Starbucks gift card. And while you're there, check out Lena's blog. She is a kick ass mama who has the cutest style, and two adorable kiddos.

Now onto a little fashion. At my new job we sell designer labels - DVF, Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam, and other big names in the industry. The place I worked at before, people literally wore yoga pants to work. So while I have lots of cute clothes, some are far too casual. I don't feel like I am a the level of my co-workers.

I am still waiting on my first real paycheck (this Thursday, thank you baby Jesus!) and eventually will be taking advantage of the great perks (aka discounts) that come along with the current gig, but until then I'm adding some cute clothes from places I can afford like Forever 21, H&M, and Kohl's. Let's keep it real. Even though adding designer names to my closet will be accessible, I'll still always be a bargain shopper and look to these cheaper stores.

Check out the purchases I made this weekend:

Vera Wang leggings from Kohl's / Tank from Forever 21

Elle blazer from Kohl's / Khakis from H&M

Black pants from H&M / Top from H&M

This week I'll feel a little more fashionable and hopefully more confident with my attire. Fake it until you make it, right?

Now it's your turn to gossip! What are you blogging about today?

Here's how it works:

Spring Has Sprung

Tribal Spring
Today is my last day of work at my current job. It's been a long 4 1/2 years so I'm taking a week off before I start my new job. I'm going to call the time off in between MY spring break. Fitting since it's now officially spring.

Perfect timing because last weekend I added several dresses to my wardrobe to make it really feel like spring. I'm loving all of the high-low dresses available right now. In fact, I bought the one above. It's an adorable tribal print H&M dress that will hopefully get a lot of use for the next several months. You can't tell from this pic, but there are cute little hearts incorporated into the print. I love it!

Most people think of lace and floral when it comes to spring (both of which I also purchased), but I also think of lightweight, airy items that can be worn for outdoor activities like festivals and wine tasting. This dress will be perfect for that.

Currently Lusting Over

Currently Lusting Over

I have a confession, I broke my spending freeze last week. I bought the BaubleBar Arrow necklace above, BUT it was a Buried Bauble and only $10! I actually bought two, one for me and an extra as a gift. Since I opened the floodgates, I pretty much feel like I should go ahead and buy the other three items on my current wish list. They're items that would get a good amount of use.

Has anyone tried that Brightening Color? It's a stick of creamy highlighter/blush that you just swipe across your cheeks. Genius! It has great reviews so I am highly intrigued.

What's on you currently lusting over?

Let's Go to Vegas, Baby!

Today is an especially happy Friday because I'm not at work. It's a 4-day weekend for me! On top of that, tomorrow I head to Vegas with Kathrin of Shop.School.Sleep. Double yay! Although it's going to be a zoo in Vegas, we have high hopes that we can find the perfect balance of fun and relaxation. And on that note, I created two outfits for the weekend - one for walking around the strip by day and another for a night out. If only these were the actual looks I was going to be wearing.

Of course, both outfits are from H&M because I'm obsessed with the store. The earrings in the second look are the only thing not from H&M. They're from BaubleBar.

Vegas Attire

I HAVE to have this dress. How perfect is it? I could wear it to Vegas, NYE parties, LA fashion shows. The possibilities are endless.

A head's up for Monday: due to Labor Day Monday, we're pushing Weekend Update to Tuesday. That'll give you time to enjoy your vacation and not have to think about linking up. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Birthday Weekend!

This weekend I am off to San Diego for a birthday getaway! My Life Partner Tiffany of Polka Dotted Cats (so named after our recent trip to NOLA and people thinking we were a couple) is graciously hosting me and our other friend, Kathrin of Shop.School.Sleep., for the weekend. Friday I'll be at Sea World all day, Saturday will be spent doing tourist-y things, and Saturday night we will be drinking at several fine establishments. Sunday is my actual birthday.

Of course one of my main concerns is what I'll be wearing. Since I just so happen to have an H&M gift card I was browsing their goods and came across so many cute items I want. In fact, everything below is from H&M. I could totally snag all of these items and easily transition from day to night!

Fruity Fashion?

Watermelon Inspired

Today's Friday's Fancies was all about creating an outfit around our favorite summer treat. For me, when I think summer, I think watermelon. So that's what I created my outfit around!

Would you wear this? I totally wish I was out and about in these adorable clothes and accessories (all available online now at H&M and BaubleBar!) BUT I am still sick. It's day 11 and I'm in so much pain with a non-stop cough. Boo! This weekend I am having an early birthday celebration so please send me your good vibes. I can't miss my own party! On the sick note: I'm sorry if I haven't visited your blog. I feel really bad about it but just haven't had the energy. I promise I will get back to your blogs eventually!!

Pretty Pastels

Pretty Pastels

Ugh, I've been sick all week. I woke up at 6am on Easter morning to an asthma attack. Then the flu and a major cold followed. I mean shivering with a heater blasting on 80, coughing 'til my throat is sore beyond belief, and congestion that you don't even want to know about. I've been out of work all week and look a hot mess. As a result, I need pretty, cherry pastels in my life!

This week I came up with three looks - all featuring items from H&M. Yup, everything above is currently on H&M's site. I may have to do some shopping soon. It is the best medicine, right? ;)

Scenes From the Weekend

This weekend was pretty low key for me, and I liked it that way. With Thanksgiving coming and then Christmas, it was the calm before the storm. Here are some scenes from the weekend, all of which were captured with Instagram, of course ;)

I headed to the mall to get a $40 price adjustment on my recent boots purchase (the boots I'm wearing in the last photo). Also stopped at H&M trying to find the holiday party dress I blogged about last Friday. Unsuccessful, but I did get a great cardi!

Made my dad snap like 2786023 pictures, trying to get a good shot for my Christmas cards this year. Yup, since I'm single and baby-less, friends will get a picture of me and my dog. Notice I'm wearing the sparkly H&M cardigan! This is not the picture I went with since my dog looks like a demon. Too bad because I actually look good in the photo! And look at her bottom teeth, she's smiling!

I'll post the actual card in a day or two.

Hung out at Starbucks with a friend on the rainy Sunday afternoon. Buy-1-get-1-free caramel brulees, baby!

And I even managed to get an OTTD pic snapped! I live alone and I don't have a high tech camera so outfits posts are few and far between.

Top and sweater from Target. Boots from Nordstrom. Scarf and red pants from Old Navy.

Pilgrim Approved!

Today I've dreamt up the perfect Thanksgiving outfit. Too bad Thanksgiving isn't a fancy affair in my family. We literally wear jeans - or whatever makes us feel most comfortable. BUT if I were to class it up, this simple dress and these bright heels from H&M would do the trick! I mean, the black dress is sort of a play on the female pilgrim garb...with just a shorter hem and lower neckline ;)
Thanksgiving Attire
Now that my eye is on that dress, I may just buy it for my company holiday party. Each year we have a casual chic affair at some cool location. This year it's going to be at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. Awesome!

With some sparkly heels and the right jewelry, I think this dress would be perfect for cocktail hour at a rock and roll joint in the heart of Hollywood.

Today I am linking up with the wonderful ladies behind Fashion Fridays, Miss Kori of Blonde Episodes, and {av} of Long Distance Loving for Friday's Fancies! If you're blogging about fashion today, join their blog hops!

Lavin ♥ H and M

Have you heard about H&M's latest collaboration? It's with Lavin! From what I've seen it seems to be a pretty hot collection, perfect for the upcoming holidays. I could totally imagine wearing one of the dresses to Thanksgiving dinner or a New Year's Eve party.

The line will be released on November 20 in the US and Canada and on November 23 in other select markets. These items will go fast, though. So it may be best to call your local store to find out if they will carry this collection.

In true Lavin style, the typical flare is still present but it's found mainly in the accessories. Shoes and jewelry paired with the beautiful, basic clothing is the perfect mix of classy attitude.

To check out all of the photos, including the men's items in this collection, head over to H&M's Lavin ♥ facebook album.

H&M Gift Certificates

Just a heads up to all of my fabulous readers--H&M is giving away $10 gift cards this week! Visit a location near you any day between today, April 6, and Friday, April 10, spend $50 and receive $10 good towards your next purchase. I am not sure if this discount applies to U.S. stores only, so those of you who aren't here in the states, I'd give your local shop a call first.

Happy shopping! And have a wonderful week =)
