The Lottery, on Lifetime

Have you heard about the new show The Lottery on Lifetime? I had the chance to catch the premiere episode and am really excited for the story to unfold!

Set in 2025, the world is experiencing a fertility crisis. In 2019 six babies were born, but none after that. Scientists are working feverishly to find a way to create viable embryos, and finally a discovery is made. The drama unfolds as the government takes over and decides to hold a lottery - 100 American women will be randomly chosen to carry them to term.

At the same time there's another story, about a man and his son, one of the last six children born. He lives with the fear of something happening to his child because while the country is protective, people are also equally envious. Without giving anything away, I can say that the pilot episode dives into what this character has to do to keep his son safe.

Watching, you really feel the desperation that the characters are experiencing. And the way that the government decides who will have babies and works to eliminate any "threats" to the embryos is downright scary and infuriating.

If you like futuristic shows that involve drama, you'll want to check this show out. Lifetime may have a new hit on their hands.

The Lottery premieres this Sunday, July 20, on Lifetime at 10PM ET/PT. Tune in and let me know what you think!

Thanks for the heads up. 2 of my most favorite network TV shows from last year were canceled and IDK why since they were both great shows. And Orange is the New Black is over until next Summer, so I am always looking for a new show or two to watch. Will give this a try for sure. Thanks for your honest review on it.

Hope your weekend was great. =)
