MAC Hello Kitty Collection is Mild and Wild!

Finally, the day has arrived...well a few days ago...The MAC Hello Kitty collection is available! I have been waiting for this moment for like 6 months!

The products are pretty cute, but don't really pack the punch that I thought they would. That doesn't mean that I am not going to purchase some items. I am probably going to go with some lipgloss.

There are two parts to the collection: Mild and Wild, both of which provide staple MAC items. There are also accessories, but they are pretty overpriced, in my opinion. For example, the tote to the side costs $45. It's adorable, but ouch!

I tend to get good use out of items like eye shadows and lipglosses so I feel that those are the smartest buys, especially with this economy. Speaking of eye shadows, I do like the eyeshadow compact, but the colors included either aren't my fav. or I already have them.

A few items have sold out, but most are still available. I would say you should buy whatever you want this weekend, before others shoppers do.

So what do you all think? Are you going to purchase anything from this collection?

Hello Kitty + M.A.C.= My Own Slice of Heaven

Today I was browsing blogs and came across a wonderful site, Glam-a-rella. While enjoying the posts, I was thrilled to read about my makeup must-have, M.A.C., teaming up with my favorite feline, Hello Kitty! Are you kidding me?! That's a match made in heaven...at least in my little world =)

Although it's only a rumor at this point, New York Magazine seems convinced that the collection is a big possibility. They
contacted M.A.C. who neither confirmed, nor denied, that the collaboration would be available in 2009.

I think that it's a great idea. Not just because of my
self-professed love for the two things, but because they are so popular individually that they're sure to be a hit when packaged together. Plus, I think it's smart marketing for the cosmetics line.
Putting Hello Kitty on their products are sure to draw in younger clients. And if these younger buyers are new to makeup, there's a good chance they'll get hooked on M.A.C.

What are your thoughts? Would you buy items from the collection?

Hello Kitty IS Fashion

I am a few months shy of my 25th birthday, yet I am still a Hello Kitty fan. Then again, I'm not alone. There are many that embrace this cute Sanrio creation. Reading a blog on Fashion Addict about Dior's campaign using Hello Kitty as a model for their collection, it made me realize just how relevant the character is in the mainstream media, and what's more, among adults and the fashion industry.

I wear my Avon Hello Kitty rhinestone earrings (pictured above) with pride. I would love an entire collection of jewelry featuring the friendly feline; however, most it is so outrageously priced.

For example, the Hello Kitty Diamond Ring: Face sold by Sanrio retails for a whopping $4,250. Oooh but wouldn't it be a perfect adornment for the finger?!
And what about this Hello Kitty Diamond Bracelet Watch sold at Neiman Marcus for $3,550? It's made out of diamonds, Mother-of-pearl, and has a pink sapphire flower.

Then there's Kimora Lee Simmons for Hello Kitty. When this lady does it, she does it right! Under Simmons Jewelry she produces various high-end pieces including the Princess Kitty Diamond Pendant which sells for $4,250.

Ahh, the dreams of a twenty-something woman!
