Glitter Mason Jar Vase Tutorial

DIY Glitter Mason Jar

Two months ago I posted a glitter champagne bottle tutorial and as soon as was done decided my next project would be a glitter mason jar vase. This project is so much easier than the first, mainly because the amount of glitter is significantly less. Plus, I learned the mistakes of glittering something last time. So, if you're looking for a fast and easy DIY project, I bring you a simple four-step guide to creating a darling glitter mason jar vase!

DIY Glitter Mason Jar
Materials: mason jar, paint brush, clear glaze adhesive spray, spray paint, Modge Podge, and glitter

Step 1: Spray the entire jar, allow for several hours to a full day for paint to dry. Repeat until you get your desired shade.

Step 2: Mark the top of your glitter point. I used scratch paper and taped it to the bottle.
(Don't use too much tape to avoid peeling off spray paint upon removal.)

Step 3: Apply Modge Podge in small sections, poring glitter over the glue while it's wet. Cover the entire desired area. Allow for a few hours to dry.

Step 4: Spray glitter with clear glaze adhesive.

That's it!
With those four simple steps, you've created a beautiful gifting vase to fill with flowers, or a fun piece of home decor for yourself.

I Love Me Some Mason Jars

Welcome to Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesdays! I have a confession to make. You see, as a life-long California girl, I've always imagined what it'd be like living in the South. So much more history, a relaxed pace of life...manners! Yeah, Californians tend to be super rude. I've been to the South once and the people were amazingly nice.

I am fortunate enough to be returning this fall to visit a friend in Nashville (my first time in Music City, USA!). After a phone conversation with my pal earlier this week, I seem to be daydreaming of the region and one of the things that pops into my mind is mason jars. Totally country chic.

Aren't they just beautiful? They can be used for the simplest things and create such a big impact. Do/have you used mason jars to decorate?

Let's see what you're pinning this week. Link up with Michelle of The Vintage Apple and play along. If you want to be Pinterest pals, add me ;)

It's also time for another edition of What the Hell Wednesday with Christianna of The Girl With the Blue Bow! So here's my rant...

Yesterday I saw a familiar homeless woman eating from the trash outside of my work. She's a bit scary and tends to yell at people but I figured I'd put my fear aside and give her one of the two bananas I'd just bought. I hand her the piece of fruit and say "Here ya go!", to which she responds with a dirty look then proceeds to throw (and by throw I mean slam) than banana into the trash! Really?!

What do you need to get off your chest this week? Head on over to Christianna's blog and link up!
