Riviera Maya: Missing my Vacation

It has been a month since my Riviera Maya vacation, and I am definately longing for the white sand and teal waters of Caribbean Sea. A week filled with relazing moments and amazing sights, this Mexico trip was just what my parents and I needed.

Here is a run down of events that took place while we were in the Yucatan Penninsula:

- Jetboating through Cancun mangroves, followed by snorkeling in a reef

- Visiting the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum

- All incusive food and beverages (including alcoholic drinks!)

- Lounging under palapas at the gorgeous beach

-Feeding coatis

Sound like paradise? Yup, it was spectacular. I have never experienced anything so beautiful in my entire life. I highly recommend a trip to the region if you get the opportunity!

As of now, Riviera Maya isn't too well-known...this means that the landscape is natural and the area is still preserved. While most go to Cancun (30 miles north), this jungle-setting is far more exciting, in my opinion.

Has anyone else been to this part of Mexico? If so, I'd love to hear about your experience!

I said it once and I'll say it again...I'm so jealous that you got to swim with the dolphins and feed those little creatures. I probably would be scared for my life in both instances, but the beautiful environment would all make it worthwhile. Next time...can I come? ;)...j/k

We actually went there this past summer! We stayed at the Moon Palace! It is SO much better than Cancun! We also visited Tulum, Zip-lined through the Mayan jungle and swam with the dolphins! I agree with you, it's almost like a hidden treasure! We enjoyed it and can't wait to go back! Your post was spot on!

Thanks for the comments Rebecca. We passed the moon Palace to get to our resort and my dad was saying that if we go back he wants to stay there. How was the food? That was my only complaint about our resort. It was all-inclusive so I thought I would gain weight, but I actually lost some because I didn't eat much!
