Birthday Week!

In addition to the Jennifer Anniston wedding on Wednesday, it was also my birthday! Way to overshadow me, Jen. Whatever, it's fine. I may have not had a celebration as big as hers, but I did have a great birthday week that included...

so.many.cupcakes.

AWOLNATION at The Hollywood Palladium

Lots of time with friends, including Kate

A Kevin From Work screening. Tune in Wednesday for the premiere on ABC Family, it's fun!

And my favorite part of the weekend - James Bay on the Santa Monica Pier! I've been obsessed with him for a few months and love him even more after his live performance. Plus he's hot and British.

Not pictured, I also went to a Brent Morin stand-up comedy show Tuesday. You may know him from the TV show Undateable. Super funny dude.

Birthdays aren't a big hoopla for me anymore, which at first I was bummed about this year. Then I realized, it is not about bar hoping. It's about great friends who I am able to spend quality time with and I'm a very lucky gal!

One Direction in Seattle!

Hey, remember me? Sorry it's been a bit since I've blogged. But I'm back with lots of inapproprite 1D love! Two weeks ago I caught a plane and flew up to Seattle to reunite with my fellow One Direction lover, Christina, to see the boys live in Seattle. It.Was.AMAZING. We had floor seats and we so close to my lover Harry Styles. For the record, I didm't actually take in my fabulous sign. I'm not that crazy. Not to "toot my own horn" but how cute is the one I made for Christina?

If you're a fan, but old like me and embarassed to go see One Direction, get over that and GO! There were people of all ages this year, and couples on dates. Even dudes were rockin' out! I can't wait until we do it again next year.

Man Candy Monday: James Bay

I have a new obsession - James Bay! He's been blowing up lately, and for good reason. His music is amazing. He was awarded with the Critics Choice award at the Brit Awards, played during the Burberry SS15 show, did a modeling gig for Vogue (although he said it was a one-time thing, and not for him), and is set to open the European leg of Taylor Swift's tour. Big things are in his future. You may have heard his first big single "Hold Back the River" and if you haven't take a listen below. I have a feeling you're going to love it. Like, it's really, really good.

DOUBLETAKE!
James Bay Harry Styles

And can we talk about how adorable he is? You all know my love for Harry Styles by now, and clearly I have a type because James has the same look...and is British with an incredible voice. They legit look the same in the second match up above. Do they share clothes?! The only difference is James is more age-appropriate for me at 24. Seven years isn't much of a gap at all ;)

Be sure to check out his debut album Chaos And The Clam, available on Amazon for as low as $6.99.

The Voice Top 8, Season 8 Red Carpet

Last night I hit The Voice Season 8 red carpet to get up close and personal with the top eight contestants. With me was the lady who introduced me to blogging over eight years ago (and my former boss!) Elana of Diary of a Personal Shopper. We had a blast talking entertainment!

Diary of a Personal Shopper and Join the Gossip

Unfortunately Adam and Christina skipped the red carpet and Blake was rushed through by his publicist, but we did get some time with the nicest dude in the music biz - Mr. Pharrell Williams. He made it a point to shake each reporter's hand and ask each of us our names. That's really rare. When you watch him on The Voice and see how kind he is, it's totally genuine and real.

We also got face time with the top eight contestants - all of which who explained how stiff the competition is, but how much they like and root for one another. So much (humble) talent!

Be sure to tune into The Voice on Monday at 8/7c on NBC when former coaches CeeLo, Usher, and Gwen come back to help out!

Who are you rooting for to take it all as The Voice Season 8 winner?

The Voice Season 7 Premieres Tonight!

This go around of the Voice I'm more excited than ever for the show to premiere! Back for Season 7 with Pharrell and Gwen Stefani joining the judges' panel, things are new and exciting. I had the opportunity to view the premiere episode and can promise you we're in for a very entertaining season.

Adam and Blake are our constants. It's pretty safe to say they're loved by most of The Voice audience. But those rotating judges' spots are the wild cards of the show. Out of Xtina, CeeLo, Shakira, and Usher, Usher is my favorite. He seemed to genuinely mesh well. But after seeing Pharell and Gwen, nothing compares. Together, the four judges are magic!

They all play off each other so well and there's a level of respect for each other, and music, that's obvious. When you watch the premiere episode you will see what I saw - really talented people, really eager to coach talented musicians. It feels so genuine.

You'll also see a lot of great voices. Like really great. The caliber of contestants is unreal. I had goosebumps watching, that's how incredible these performers are. And on top of stellar singing, there's the comedy of four megastars duking it out to snatch up the best of the best. During the screening the theater was filled with laughter, and in a room full of media and TV critics, that's not something that comes easy. It's a huge testament to the what's in store for us this season.

After the episode was over we all got a chance to jump in the judges' chair. I totally geeked out. So fun! And if all that wasn't enough the good people over at NBC/Universal made attendees the cutest swag bags full of products from the judges. Vodka, Starbucks, music, and perfume - what more could I need in life?!

Tune into the Season 7 premiere of The Voice tonight! Catch episodes Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
